Makey Makey Project

My Makey Makey story is about a dragon. The lines on the picture represent the order in which you should tap for the story to move along slowly. In order to start, hit the green flag.

The Picture

In case if you don’t have the picture, here is an image:

Left arrow represents the bathtub, right represents the flowers, up is the jewelry and down is the toilet, and finally the table is the space key.

Personally, I believe that my biggest struggle in coding this project would be trying to get Bob, a character who appears when the jewelry is tapped, to move while an animation is being played. My biggest struggle overall would be trying to get the Makey Makey to function. I could not figure out how to turn the Makey Makey on and I forgot how the setup was.

I’m probably most proud of animating, as I had never done it before. I was also proud of thinking of the idea, because I would probably be clueless. I had to revise a story line to it, because originally it was just “Random objects floating in space” until Mr. Dembo stated that it needed more of a story-line.

About Me Collage

In my About Me Collage, there are potions on the top shelf. After hitting the green flag, click on the bottles. Each one will do something different. When clicked an image will appear. It will tell you something about me. If you click the cauldron it will fill a potion. This potion is decoration and has no function when clicked. If you have epilepsy and/or are sensitive to flashing lights, do not click the black potion.

The hardest thing for me was probably coming up with “My favorite” prompts. I most likely would’ve had more potions if I had more ideas of what to put in. You can see that I was struggling with the fourth and fifth potion as they were very similar. I learned how to broadcast a message while doing this since I needed an interaction with a sprite interact with another.

The information included in here are my favorite animal, birthday, food, holiday, and season.

Animated Name Project

My Scratch project is my name animated.

When the green flag is clicked, (Go) the girl will exclaim, “Graffiti!” She also will note how to play. Clicking a letter will make it say, “Wiping…” Then it will disappear. After 5 seconds, it will re-appear. If you hit o it will move the girl sprite to the Y.

I had a few difficulties. For example, when I was going back to make sure everything was smooth, it started glitching. The human sprite started to glitch up and down when the space bar was hit, so I had to go back and fix that. It took me about 5 attempts to fix it. It was also difficult making every letter, because I wanted them all different in some sort of way. I also messed up the girl sprite when I was designing her. I accidentally deleted the outline so I had to go back and fix that.

I was pretty pleased with myself when I thought of the graffiti idea, and getting the sprite in the two positions. I’m glad there was a brick background, because I didn’t want to have to make all those bricks.
